SLACK Incorporated's Periodicals Project Group produces sponsored print and multimedia custom publications for a wide variety of clients and health care specialties. Its goal is to disseminate cutting-edge, accurate information to health care professionals for educational purposes. The Periodicals Project Group is global — publications are printed in a variety of languages and often publications are translated for targeted audiences. The Periodicals Project Group's custom publications are produced in a variety of formats, from 8-page newsletters to 160-page supplements to interactive multimedia products on the Internet.

Many of the Periodicals Project Group's publications are developed and implemented as supplements or adjuncts to SLACK's prestigious periodicals. These projects offer sponsors a unique advantage as a result of the parent publications' high readership, established credibility and clinical value.

The Periodicals Project Group produces more than 60 projects each year. Highlights of these projects include:

Ocular Surgery News MonographNew Paradigm for the Clinical Management of Glaucoma
A monograph to the September 15, 2000 issue of Ocular Surgery News. The monograph highlighted a roundtable discussion on the new treatment approach to glaucoma and on the newest agents available.

Orthopedics Supplement Risk Assessment and Novel Therapeutic Approaches: Reducing the Incidence and Recurrence of DVT in the Surgical Setting
The June 2000 supplement to Orthopedics®,
a peer-reviewed journal, explored the areas of DVT assessment and management.


Psychiatric Annals MonographAPA Meetings Highlights
Monograph to the November 2000 issue of Psychiatric Annals highlighting satellite symposia presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Psychiatric Association.

MED E-M@IL
Weekly, Med-EM@IL will deliver customized packages of peer-reviewed Medline abstracts directly to the computer of a physician or other health care professional. Physicians who need information on the Internet often turn to Medline when seeking material on a particular topic. Med-EM@IL assists physicians on this search by providing them with the abstracts they need.

The staff of the Periodicals Project Group includes project editors, who specialize in different fields of health care. Each project editor has excellent editing, writing, project management, and production skills.
